The Men Who Got In Are Not Leaving

Border Patrol caught 8,870 people on the southwest border in August, about one twentieth of the peak months. By that number the border is fixed. The street you live on tells a different story.

More than 2,000 Border Patrol agents spent last fall walking sanctuary cities instead of the line. In February DHS sent them back to their sectors. The people, the routes and the cash networks that came through from 2021 to 2024 did not leave with them: the four-to-a-room rental, the day-labor lot, the car wash with a hand-lettered CASH ONLY sign in the window. When the pressure leaves a city, the lot refills.

Tonight Gregory Bovino, who ran those city operations, joins the panel off the badge and on the record.

Today’s SITREP walks through the early warning signs on your own block, from the pickup corner that refills at 6 a.m. to the rental with covered windows and cars that change every night, and the three moves: build a written baseline of your block, learn the four stash-house signs and where to report them, and keep one route out of downtown that never crosses a protest corridor. 📓
