How Soon is WW3? and the Five-Step Process of Preparation

If you were following the American news media, you might think that WW3 and a grid down situation is far from worrisome and be unconcerned, some would say distracted and unaware. However, you are aware, or you would not be reading this. There are some news sources where listeners can learn what is happening from a larger perspective, which might tell you a different story about the trajectory of the future. (Two of these sources, which I have found informative, are the NYPrepper, for an American perspective on high importance topics, and WION, for a global perspective of large impact topics.)

However, knowing what may lie ahead brings us to a question. What can each of us do to prepare for the impact on ourselves, families, friends, and communities? We cannot change the course of what others have done, are planning to do, or may yet execute regardless of the impact to us. What we can do is change ourselves and gain knowledge about areas we find important as we prepare to survive, thrive, and at some point, come out on the other side of a bad situation.

The Five-Step Process of Preparation

Let’s look at a five-step process of preparation. The gaining of 1) KNOWLEDGE is a learning step that is never ending. Enjoy this step of coming to understand the preparation for survival, have fun through each 2) EXPERIENCE you have, and do not get frustrated as over time you will gain 3) SKILL.

Having the right 4) EQUIPMENT and 5) PROVISIONS are part of the process too. However, knowing what to do with it, when, and how it all works together takes time and experience. You must put your knowledge, provisions, and equipment to the test and discover what works for you. Over time, you will find that skill will have come to you in many areas as you gain experience with the right equipment and provisions.

How soon will WW3 be upon us? This is a question that has no answer at the time. Each of us will have to decide for ourselves if or when it is coming and whether to prepare or not. Keep in mind, the early bird gets the worm, and if they are late, the worms are all ate.

There are five key focus areas for learning to prepare for survival (of course you need oxygen):
  1. Navigation: knowing your specific location and navigating to another specific location
  2. Water: finding and purifying water
  3. Fire: making a fire (heat, cooking, light)
  4. Shelter: determining what clothing to wear, what to use as a sleep system, and what to use for protection against adverse weather conditions
  5. Food: deciding what you eat and how to get it
