The majority of people practice techniques and focus on being technical.

We don’t.

We value tactical over technical.

Violence Loves Speed.

For you to compete with the suddenness of a surprise attack, you need to think fast to move fast.

Developing mindspeed is one of our primary focuses during training.

“A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.”

-George S. Patton

”No plan survives first contact with the enemy.”

Sudden violence has a way of undermining the best of plans.

In all our courses, we always consider the emotional and psychological impact of sudden violence. For this reason, we integrate neurobiology and psychology in all training.

We practice ‘off-balance’ on purpose….

The surprise attack will trigger a fear spike.

Sudden fear can hijack executive function which affects direct access to complex motor skills (techniques!).

We ALL must manage the fear spike and control our minds and bodies.

No one is exempt.

MINDSPEED & FEAR

The mind navigates the body. That is how ‘we’ as humans function.

FYI, there’s no such thing as ‘literal muscle memory’. Most misuse the term. Again, the mind navigates the body.

Train The Mind.

This is the intelligent use of physiology, kinesiology, and psychology.

“Get Your Biology to Work for You Instead of Against You.”

– Steven Kotler (Flow State expert)

By relying on primal instincts and gross motor movement, we can function more effectively in high-stress situations.

By integrating the natural laws of movement, we can move faster and with more power and more safety.

In a truly dangerous confrontation, sudden fear is your friend. It sounds an alarm. It triggers the flinch. The flinch locks n’ loads your close-quarter arsenal. Fear supercharges you.

All this happens with immense mindspeed, in fact, it’s non-conscious. [Why some don’t see this magic of the human weapon system is still a mystery to me. 🤷‍♂️]

Learn these three stages to managing violence and you will be safer:

  1. How quickly can you recognize danger?
  2. How quickly can you manage your fear spike?
  3. How quickly can you choose the next functional move?

And, of course, don’t confuse technical with tactical!

Re-view the deck above. Re-read the words. Sleep on the message.
