Crisis Planning for a Life Altering Event

Make an emergency plan:

》Have a list of phone numbers and addresses of people/places that could aid during a LAE. (Family, friends, the neighbor who’s a nurse, non-emergency police #, etc.)

》Have backup comms and rally points. (HAM radio, satellite phone, meeting location midway between yourself and another member of preparedness group)

Stock up:

》Have food and water to last for 60 days.

》Have contingency comms, weather radio (solar/crank), candles, flashlights, batteries, solar panel with inverter and battery bank, generator, etc.

》Have 2 firearms and at least 210 rounds of each caliber.

Harden your home and have a Bugout Location (BOL):

》Solid frame doors, reinforced, two locking systems, deadbolts, 3″ screws. Lock windows.

》Security system, early alert, motion alarms/lights, door camera w/ phone app.

》Panic room with locking door and escape window. (Can be a 2nd floor closet or a bedroom with security window that can be opened from inside)

》Have a nearby BOL (less than 1 hour from home) and a distant BOL (out of state). BOL can be a friend/family house or a cabin in the woods. Know how to navigate without GPS (strip map & local maps).

Learn, train, be aware:

》Know how to fight, pressure points, take downs.

》Know how to grow food and purify water.

》Know how to fix common vehicle problems.

》Stay in the know, follow news, know indicators of pending LAE, stay focused on threats.

Work together:

》Your plan should incorporate others. Add members to your group that have a value added. (Medical experience, secluded farmland/shelter, military training, mechanic, etc.)

》Trade and barter with others.

Carry supplies:

》Everyday carry essentials (IFAK, firearm, tools, flashlight).

》Have go bags for an egress from school/work/vehicle/home. Bags should prepare you to make it home or to a BOL.

》Prepare your vehicle with extra emergency supplies and tools to keep moving (spare tire, jump box, blanket).
